I know the Lord loves me!

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

So I woke up this morning feeling SUPER depressed. I thought it hurt yesterday? It hurts even more today. So I texted Sara hoping she's keep me out of my misery and sorrow. She replied back telling me to come to institute at York. I had an essay due that day, so I would've said no, but I was really needing that spiritual uplift. And looky looky, the lesson for today was the lesson I was looking forward to but missed because of Anderson's good-bye party. I consider that lucky.

My notes?
D&C 132-133

Prepare thy Heart
- you might not hear what you want so you must prepare your heart to hear what the Lord wants you to do instead of what you want to do yourself.

Holy Spirit of Promise - 88:3-4
- The "other" comforter
- The promise of eternal life; glory of celestial kingdom

Blessings of Celestial Marriage
- Inheritance
- 1st Resurrection
- Heavenly Father gives us a lot of freedom, but He is very concerned about how we come to earth and how we leave it. That's why murder and losing virtue are the top two serious sins. << I found that sooo interesting! I never looked at it that way before.

Heavenly Father gives us so many chances to be with Him again. Someone who loves us so much is not going to give you only one chance when you screw up and send you to hell. He gives us the Atonement so we can right our wrongs so we can live with Him again.

- V.29: Only place where we can get the Abrahamic Covenant is in the temple.

1. Build up the church and eternal families
2. It was a commandment
3. Priesthood ordinance

- "A little bit of knowledge is dangerous; drink deeply."

Okay, so I LOVED that institute lesson. I think I got it right when I needed it. I came to Institute class nag-nagging Sara with my annoying depressing sighs, but I left with the biggest smile on my face. Sara and I were joking around about the whole image of having to share our husbands in the spirit world...BAHAHAHA we're like "no way, we ain't sharing our men!" Because it was the last institute class, Bro. Goldthorp treated us all to Booster Juice. Yeeeeeuh! It was my first time trying it and I kinda really LOVED it! I was at school till 6:30, but the sun was shining and I still had a big, fat smile on my face. I came home and I was telling Laura that I was so super happy even when I thought I had every right not to be. See, that's how Satan works. He thinks he can make me miserable over things I can't control....I hate him. And that is how I know this Gospel is true! The Spirit is able to comfort me, letting me know that things will be all right even though I don't think they will. I know my Heavenly Father loves me :)

"Don't worry if you're single. God's looking at you right now, saying,: I'm saving this girl for someone special."

Monday, March 28, 2011

Ok so I'm stressing like MAD right now.

I have 3 assignments due this week.

Genereal Conference this weekend.

Then 3 exams next week.

Not to mention stressing over things that are completely distracting me from my work.

BUT, may I just say that I have THE BEST visiting teachers in the world. Our new visiting teachers are Aryana Rush and Melissa Popiel. Last week they came over to meet with me, my mom, and my grandma, but I wasn't able to make it because I was playing the piano at a wedding. So Aryana took the time to call me today and ask me how I'm doing and shared a short message from the Ensign with me. It was short and simple, but it was EXACTLY what I needed to make my day just a tad brighter. I wasn't feeling too great before she called and now I am smiling and feeling a whole lot better. Thank you Aryana!

Oh and I decided to start Media Strike again. Strictly no Facebook, TV, or worldly music.
Two reasons:
1) Prepare for General Conference. I AM SO EXCITED FOR IT!!
2) I just have too much work due this week for me to be distracted by stuff. Especially him. (He is distracting me SO bad right now. Ask Sara, I was texting her and I sounded like I was dying. This is so insanely stupid of me. Seriously.) But yeah, no facebook, no distractions from people and those situations. Trying to be care-free at the moment!

Sigh. Here we go!

Sunday, March 27, 2011

First off, it didn't hit me as hard as it did today that Anderson wasn't going to be here. Sigh, this reminds me of the first Sunday after Nelson and Corkin went home.

Well, a whole lot of our missionaries got transfered so I was pretty confused with the new faces.
Elder Lusk was replaced with Elder Hall.
Elder Ip and Workman were replaced with Elder Duce and Doumachel.
Herman Tillet was replaced with Hermana Fotheringham.
Elder Anderson was replaced with Elder Rhodes.

Tiffany's little brother, Derek, got baptized today. Awww he's so cute :]

After church we did tons of debut planning. So guess whaaaaaaaat! My family liked the Black Devils I made for Anderson's good-bye dinner so much that I over-heard them talking about making them the give-aways for Laura's debut. I came out of the room saying that I'd laaaave too :D Tehehe, so I'll be baking and decorating 230 cupcakes! Woot woot!

And today was also the first time I got the hang of Skype! HA - HA - HA! I never really understood it, but Jared video called my for the first time so he was teaching me the how-tos.

Hawaiian Dance

Friday, March 25, 2011

Not too much dancing went on cuz I wasn't in the mood. I just saw one of my bestest friends in the whole wide world for the last time. But here are the pics anyways :)

So attractive.

Well, they had all these floaties and beach balls flung everywhere during the dance.

Anderson's Farewell Dinner

This is it...the final good-bye. I am so sad.

Anderson's dad came to pick him up, so we had them both over for dinner on his last night in Toronto. I won't lie, we were all pretty nervous having his dad come over, but his dad is super AWESOME! He's so cool! We were talking about Tangled and the music we love to jam to. Haha, yea, Anderson felt a little left out. It was also my daddy-o's birthday so we had a combined farewell/birthday dinner.

Black devil cupcakes. Yum yum!

"I forget how to blow out candles". Aww daddy!

Dad's new purple swag.

*Cries* he's leaving!

Anderson and the fam fam (:

Of course...

The three of us were sitting on the floor looking through the pictures on his camera. I am going to miss him so bad. What was on the card we gave him? "There's a bad word in here. Good-bye. (Well, at least when we have to say it to you)."
He's just that special.

Have a Wonderful Life

Have a Wonderful Life
Everyday good things to do to add more joy to life by papemelroti

1. WRITE A NOTE of appreciation, gratitude, or support for someone who deserves it. Even people in high places need to know they`re doing a good job. Write them, e-mail them--  you`ll be encouraging them to keep on keeping on.

2. PASS THE MESSAGE. Look for a `good news` story to tell. It may be something good someone has done that has gone unnoticed. This is much better than gossip in increasing morale.

3. ENTERTAIN. Amaze a child, amuse a friend. It`s a way to pass the time in a very special way. Learn a new magic trick or tell a clean joke. Sing a song well or recount a story with gusto. Whatever way can bring magic.

4. CAMP OUT. It can be in your own backyard. It can be far out in the middle of nowhere. Just be sure it is under the stars. Experience the beauty of the night sky & let your thoughts lead you where they may.

5. Give a kind SMILE to a stranger. Pick someone who looks as if he needs it - the street vendor with no customers, the bored guard, the overworked might just make that person`s day.

6. GIVE A SMALL GIFT to someone who seems to be always moody and sad. A small token of concern may be just what that person needs today.

7. DRAW. DOODLE someone and give it to him. It may amuse, heart-warm, or delight depending on the amount of love you make it with.

8. STRETCH. Get limber- reach your limits whether you can`t touch your toes or have the flexibility of a ballerina, there`s always that extra inch of improvement we can all attain.

9. WRITE A LETTER TO A FRIEND. Everyone loves getting letters. When we send one, the message it carries goes beyond what is written on it but also says, `you`re special because I thought about you and took the time to sit down and write to you my thoughts.`

10. TAKE A WALK WITH YOUR DOG and maybe let him walk you. You never know where he might take you, what new place you can discover. Life is one big adventure we can all enjoy! And, it can start with...your dog.

11. LAUGH. Watch a cartoon kids love and laugh out loud! We all know how stress and sadness wear you out so imagine what a big laughing session can do for you.

12. Do something for FREE. Whether it be mowing someone`s lawn or caroling at Christmas, giving something without expecting anything in return is an ultimate high.

13. CLEAN YOUR ROOM. Making your surrounding spic and span increases your productivity and efficiency. It lightens your mood as well as your house mates.

14. JOIN A GROUP that supports a worthy cause. If one person can make a difference imagine what people can do together.

15. MAKE FRIENDS with the animals. Try birdwatching, feed your cat, hug your dog. Studies show being with animals give you a longer and gentler life.

16. MAKE A CHILD HAPPY by volunteering at an orphanage or daycare centre. Every child is a precious gift. Their laughter, simplicity and innocence is infectious. When you spend time with them you receive a lot more than what you give.

17. COOK A NEW RECIPE. The challenge of trying something new is one sure energy-boost. It makes an ordinary day special. And whether or not it tastes good-one thing`s for sure- you have made a discovery today! (Ever tried making sushi!?)

18. START SAVING UP for something you really, really want. Put a picture of that shiny bicycle, knockout dress or dream vacation. Whether you need a piggy back or need to make a major investment, it`s good for you to set goals and work hard to attain them.

19. GIVE CLOTHES, FOOD, TOYS TO THE NEEDY. Just look around for the many organization you can give these to. This will be greatly appreciated.

20. Write a POEM or a SONG about something or someone you are happy about. Let your mind express its joy! You can give it as a special gift to someone.

21. SHOW APPRECIATION. It may be a letter to the makers of your favourite show or a dinner for your parish priest. Whichever way helps to make you a blessing to people around your world.

22. PRAISE SOMEONE. Sometimes you can`t think of anything good about a certain person. The more that person needs to be praised, and also encouraged. Think hard, be honest and sincere and then give your praise. See what happens.

23. Leave notes of encouragement and GUM packs of chewing gum on the desk of someone trying to quit smoking. A healthy life is a happy life.

24. BE A NICE NEIGHBOR. Throw flower seeds in empty neighborhood lots. Instead of weeds growing, soon there`ll be flowers! You can voluntarily cut the unruly grass growing in untended areas and clean up litter.

25. Cook up a BIRTHDAY SURPRISE for a friend or family member`s birthday coming up!

26. GIVE BLOOD. Decide to have one day in a year when you and your friends could go and do this. This sacrifice is something you know can save someone`s life. Be an instant hero.

27. READ POETRY and let it feed your soul. The great poets tried to describe to the full the very essence of life. Relieve their vibrant thoughts and relish what they speak of.

28. MAKE MUSIC. Learn an instrument or two! And be sure not to just keep it to yourself. Share your music with others. Sure to soothe your spirit and clear your mind of everyday troubles.

29. SAY A PRAYER for someone you know is in need. Prayer is a little thing we can all do but something that has life-changing results. It makes us more loving & sensitive to others`needs. At the same time, God listens, and we see things happen!

30. DRESS UP DIFFERENTLY. Whether it be an adventurous tie, coloured underwear or an outrageous outfit, you can try doing this to add something special to your day.

31. QUIET PLEASE. Take a trip to a nearby park, secluded garden, tree, or safe rooftop where you can do some major thinking. This will recharge you to face once again the ridiculously fast pace of today`s world.

32. Offer the mailman or the newspaper boy an ICE COLD DRINK on a hot day as a way of saying thanks.

33. BUY LOCAL. Promoting good quality items made locally helps the economy and benefits you in the long run.

34. Spend time with your parents, grandparents and senior relative and learn from their WORDS OF WISDOM gathered from years of experience.

35. As a STREETKID his name and how old he is. Widen your world. Look beyond the comfortable. Touch someone`s life with a kind word or two. You`re planting a seed of hope.

36. TALK TO A PLANT and listen to its quiet wisdom. A plant will keep your secrets and never interrupt. A plant will never turn its back on you and will continue to give you the best it has to give no matter what you say.

37. FORGIVE someone who`s hurt you in the past. Take a forgiveness test. Pray for that person and wish him all the blessings you can think of.

38. WISH upon a star and when you do, know your wish was hear and that your answer will come soon enough! Note: only make loving wishes!

39. Say I LOVE YOU in whatever way you can. We all need to hear it and we all need to say it at one point in our lives or in our everyday. This may be a difficult thing to do for some but God always give us the perfect way for us to make it known so long as we look for it hard enough.

40. DONATE old books to school library. You`ll never know just how many kids you`ll be able to help learn! At the same time - you`re lessening clutter and simplifying your life.

41. RANDOM PRAYER TIME. Take our your telephone directory and open it up at any page. Close your eyes and point at the page. Pray for whoever your finger lands on.

42. Spend QUALITY TIME with someone special t you. Eat ice cream together, sing songs, play cards, talk deep. Get to know what is happening with him. Listen well not only to his words but to what is unsaid.

43. Give someone the gift of a HUG. It`s just what is needed in a time of sorrow or a time of joy- it says ``i care``, ``you make me happy`` and it also says ``i love you`` in a quick and simple way.

44. Try to lead a SIMPLE LIFE today...and everyday. As Mr. Eknath Easwaran says...To lead a simple life in reasonable comfort, with a minimum of possessions, ranks high among the arts of living. It leaves us the time, resources and freedom of mind we need for the thing that give life value: Loving, helping, serving and giving.

45. Make a NEW FRIEND. Never think you have too many friends. Each person is a treasure trove of discoveries just waiting to be opened up.

46. MAKE A LIST OF TEN BLESSINGS YOU GOT TODAY. Having an attitude of gratitude is one of the best ways to shoo a bad day away. It reminds us to keep our eyes ever open to the many gifts God continually gives to us!

47. PLANT SOMETHING. There is something very life-giving about seeing something bloom and grow. It gives one a stronger love for life and the virtue of patience takes root.

Good-bye Elder Anderson!

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Today was very confuzzling and crazy.

I was supposed to go straight to church from school for Anderson's good-bye party. Did I? No, because the freaking weather can't make up it's freaking mind. Please tell me how the weather got from super sunny and spring-like to freaking winter snow storm in ONE WEEK?! That does not make me happy.

Especially because the snow storm meant I had to go home instead of the party. BOOOOOO! I called Anderson disappointed and he talked with me as I walked home (because the bus was taking so freaking long cuz of the freaking traffic. Might as well get off and take a short-cut, no?)

Anyway it was very confuzzling because there were phone calls being made all over the place trying to confirm things. At one point the weather and the roads cleared so Anderson tried convincing us to come. Luckily my parents were ok with it! Woo!

This is Jared in Dewey's glasses.
He looks pretty good in them too, no?

This is Shanelle's rap for him. Hahaha way funny stuff!

Our gift for him.
There was a reasonable explanation for the bag.

The EH Team.
Yea baby, that's what I'm talking about.
He needs to have some Canadian Pride.

Oh you. I'm going to miss him.

Apparently Elder Baker is going home too. WHAT?!
And we have the same camera. WHAT?!

So I fail at taking snap shots with the Elders.
They're just too tall.

I am going to miss this kid so freaking much.
There's a reason he's my BFF.

Yeeeeuh Baker! Our fellow Canadian!

Our bus drive home.
We just like this picture, no big.

Oh, and Anderson and Laura ditched me and started talking about things. Much confuzzlement! I feel left out.

Rob's Wedding

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Today was Rob's wedding with Dorthy. It was a small one, but Laura and I were asked to do the piano/music directing, plus my Daddy-O was performing their marriage, thus we were invited. Ha, people keep making jokes about our little "family business" when it comes to events.

My dad was talking and he talked about advice that the person sealing him and my mom said to them when they got married: The Three Cs.
1. Compassion
2. Communication
3. And for number 3 my dad forgot so he said what Laura and I say, "CHEESY & CORNY". Mhmm, people laughed.

He also added in stuff about love from my FHE lesson the night before. I love it when my daddy-o talks about the lessons I've taught in FHE :]

It was a simple, but beautiful wedding. When Rob cries it makes me want to cry too.

At the end of the ceremony they played this song: Bless the Broken Road by the Rascal Flatts. It was BEAUTIFUL. Here's the video:

The food was pretty good and Laura and I enjoyed snacking behind the piano where no one could see us. The assistants ended up coming in with the Elder who is replacing Elder Anderson ( a knife through my heart!).

Oh yeah! Elder Dewey looked supah fly on Sunday because he was wearing these glasses. I took them off his face...

Watchu think?

So his secret was #1, they weren't his. And #2, they don't have a prescription. HA-HA-HA! Oh Dewey.

Anderson called me over and took me away from my ga-ga-ing over Dewey's glasses. Yes, Anderson, what do you want? He introduced me to the new assistant, Elder Rhodes, that's what.

"This is Ariana Rae Limas and she's awesome and...."

Ok he said other stuff, but I stood stunned at the fact that he used my whole first name. That puts a smile to my face!

I then told Elder Rhodes:

Ariana: Buddy, Laura and I will be keeping an eye on you. You've got some pretty big shoes to fill!
Rhodes: But my feet aren't as big...
Anderson: Why does everyone keep making fun of my feet?

Then he made a comment about my feet...WHAT?

So meet Elder Rhodes:
He has some kind of accent.
He's from Virginia (figured that out with help from mine and Anderson's sick mouthing skills).
He's funny/sarcastic. Take your pick.

Then as Laura was meeting Rhodes, Anderson and I started our discussion about America....not again.
Anderson: You should just move to America.
Ariana: Neverrrrrr.
Anderson: Why not? Your favourite people are all from there...
Ariana: That is.....well....yeah....oh, I guess that is true.
He gave me a look of satisfaction when he shouldn't have. Wipe that smile off your face, mister. But in my defense, yes, a lot of my favourite people are from America: Tyson Anderson, Jake Corkin, Danny Nelson, Danny Anderbauer, George Lucero, Jed Layton, Mary Martinez....(and they are all RMs too, well Anderson soon will be. The list goes on.)

But WHATEVER! That doesn't make me want to move to America! Visit, yes. Live there, no.

Oh yea, Anderson said something that made Laura and I want to bawl. He said, "at least you have Elder Rhodes to replace me. I have no one back home to replace you guys." I was so touched.

Laura and I ended the night with helping out in the kitchen. You know how there's the few Relief Society women who will offer themselves up in the kitchen at the end of the activity? Yep, that's basically what we did. Holy smokes, NEVER ENDING DISHES! But I had fun...Carole Mark and Lianne Racioppo were entertaining us while we all cleaned together. Those are two very funny women!

Then I got to show off my boxing skills to Dewey. (Ha, what skills?) But yes, I do love boxing. Haha.

Excerpt #8 - March 21, 2011

Give me something that’ll haunt me when you’re not around
Cuz I see sparks fly whenever you smile <3 – t.Swift

“Ava, come with me.”
“Roo, I can’t.”

Avalalie slumped further into her chair as she doodled onto the piece of paper. It just wasn’t the same when Roo wasn’t there. She was bored with no one to talk to, no one to make her laugh, and at any other time like this she’d be counting on him to cheer her up—except this time he was the reason for it all. She blew a piece of her fringe out of her face. Roo had gone to Europe for a college trip as one of his requirements for his program. He had asked Ava to come with him so they could go sight-seeing together, but she refused. Why she did, she didn’t know. She was so sick and tired of being like this; Roo constantly trying to keep their relationship close, but Ava just pushing away. She was scared—after all, everyone who did say they’d stay had left. She had every reason not to believe Roo; he was just another guy chasing after just another girl. But then again, she had every reason to believe him too. What kind of friend would she be if she didn’t trust every sincere word he had ever said to her? She was stuck in a situation trying to decide between the little devil and angel on her shoulder; the devil telling her it was wrong to let herself go with someone when she’s been hurt so many times already, but the angel telling her it was okay to move on. Ava’s doodles went from loopy circles to frustrated scribbles.  Why was it so hard to let go?

There was a knock on Ava’s door. Mallorie popped her head in, “Um, Ava, there’s um...”. Mallorie was stammering.

“What’s wrong?”

“There’s someone outside to see you...”

Mallorie stepped to the side and a tall, familiar figure stood there. “Hey.”

Avalie spun her chair around. “James?! What are you doing here?!”

She didn’t exactly know what kind of tone her voice sounded like. She didn’t even know what she was feeling. Was she mad? Was she excited? She had no clue.

Mallorie allowed him to step forward, “I’ll leave you two alone for a sec.”

As Mallorie left, James turned his focus back to Avalie.

“I said, what are you doing here?”, Avalie’s voice trembled.

“Ava, just let me explain. I know I said I’d be back, but—“

“But what? You told me to wait for you. So I waited. Did you come back in the time that you said you would? No you didn’t. But I waited anyway.”

She took a deep breath. It felt so good to finally get that off her chest.

“I know. But things were complicated and I, well, I didn’t know what to do.”

“And you couldn’t at least reply back to my calls or messages?”

“Can you chill? Geez, this is exactly why I was so nervous! You girls get so dramatic!”

Avalie glared at him. James couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He came back didn’t he?

“Yea, well that’s only because guys like you don’t have the guts to come say your feelings upfront. Why don’t you try being a man and tell me straight up what’s been going on.”

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry I didn’t come back like I promised. I’m sorry that you had to wait. I’m not going to lie, I forgot about my promise for a while and had my fun. But then I remembered how much I cared about you. That’s why I’m back”.

Avalie’s face was so hot with anger. The tears were starting to well up in her eyes.

“You know, I was waiting and waiting for this moment to come, for this moment for you to finally come back so my waiting would be over. But it’s not at all what I expected. I thought when you came back everything would go back to how it used to be. And because I was so focused on you, I’ve been afraid to let anybody else come close to me. I’ve shut people out of my life all for you. I’ve hurt people close to me, people I truly care about.”

Avalie’s voice started to quiver. Roo’s kind and smiling face flashed through her mind. It was like a huge slap in her face. She had been hurting Roo. She had been hurting Roo. The line echoed through her head over and over again. She loved Roo, but it was only now she realized how much she was hurting her best friend. And for what? Someone who couldn’t even call her to explain himself! How could she allow herself to let it get that far?  She was waiting for someone who she thought she cared about, someone she thought was prince charming, someone she thought she was in love with. What she didn’t realize until this very moment was that he had been with her this whole time.

“I’m sorry James. I didn’t mean to yell at you like that. But I’m sorry, I just can’t do this.”

She pushed her way past him. “Where are you going?”, James said with confusion.

“I’m sorry you came back for nothing, James, I really am. But I need to thank you. This is what I thought I wanted. But I guess this is all I needed to finally realize that I’ve already been completely over you for months. I guess this is the closure I needed.”

“For what?”, James asked stumped.

“For me to finally let go and move on.” Ava kissed James lightly on the cheek and looked at him in the eye. “I need to go tell someone how much he means to me.”

They say fate controls who walks into your life. But you decide who you let walk out, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go. Avalie let Vince walk out on her years ago; she let James stay longer than needed; and now she was off to be with that person she refused to ever let go. She needed to get a plane ticket to Europe. She needed to see Roo.

Today's theme for sacrament meeting was CHARITY.

Leah Johnson gave a really good talk saying that charity is love in action. She then quoted someone, listing all these characteristics as to what charity is, but I cannot remember who it's by. I tried looking on, and I guess this is the closest article I could find: Feeling the Love of the Lord through Exercising Charity.

Derek Li said something that I thought was really interesting: With charity, we increase our ability to love. With so much love, you don't focus as much on yourself. Your own burdens seem lighter as you help others with theirs.

He also said it was a chain reaction and when we show someone love, they too will bring it to someone else.

So it's Elder Anderson's last Sunday and I am super sad. I actually have no words right now because I am just that sad (hence my lack of creativity for words...).

But he finally introduced me to "the" girl. Haha I've been bugging him to do that for a while now. She's pretty cool and I was excited for her because she was getting baptized today! Yay!

He needs to give me a copy of the one from his camera.
According to Laura, we just look weird.

Whoops, there goes the tears.

Their inside joke.

Yes. We will miss him.

I was to take photos of the YW for a scrapbook they are supposed to participate in making for Sis. Cook when she comes next month. This is what we came up with:

Afterwards I went with Hermana Wheeler to their correlation meeting with the rest of the missionaries. Haha, we got kinda lost trying to find the Johnson's home. But it's all good, that's how you learn the way of getting around! Hehe. All the other missionaries were there already by the time we came. Bro. Johnson gave us all hot chocolate :] Anderson looked surprised to see me haha i love his face expressions. Hanging with the missionaries made me learn some new things:
I learned that Elder Ip likes boxing.
I learned that Elder Wadsworth watched How to Train a Dragon during his mission cuz a family made him.  I I learned that Elder Workman still likes to razz me. And he slacked in school (hahaha i'm kidding).
I learned that Elder Lusk knows about Anderson's "girl" story (HAHAHA, there was a lot of eye talking going on).

But we were discussing the investigators and new members. Two things that never ceases to amaze me:
1. Missionaries are so different behind closed doors (you'd think I would've gotten used to that by now since I'm always around them. Nope.)

2. The missionaries truly care a lot about their investigators and the members. They have so much love for them to find happiness.

Deeks & Limas day!

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Last year during March Break, I brought Sara and Laura with me to York. We attended my lecture, had lunch, then went to Institute. From there, we went to Sara's house where her mom made us a really great dinner and a lovely dessert. Then Holly joined Laura and I at ASL at my ward.

This year, now that Sara attends York with me, we decided to bring both our sisters along! Woo!

Me and my BFFL&E in the library.

Waiting for Insitute to start.
These are my sisters for Eternity (:

The Institute Lesson! Notes:
- Ward clerk's job is a lot more important thing than we think-- records need to be kept for the sake of binding things in earth and in heaven.
- It's important that we do baptism for the dead, not just for their salvation, but for our own. We need to do this work for the sake of missionary work.
- "The gates of hell shall not prevail against the church" - Pres. Monson's keys open the gates of the Spirit prison. We give them the chance to go from prison to paradise through proxy work in the temple.
- "Salvation is an individual matter, exaltation is a family matter"
When we think "exaltation" we usually refer to just our family unit. But it's not just about that. We need to do the work for others because we are one big family. If you look at it technically, we really are all related. Exaltation is not just about getting my family there, but bringing the rest of our spirit brothers and sisters up there with us too.
- Use the scriptures as our urim and thummim as our personal helpers for revelation
- Patriarchal blessing like personal scriptures
- Studying the scriptures trains us to hear the Lord's voice so He can better use us as His instruments to do His work
- Pay attention to scripture. Study more!
- Be open to the revelation that Christ has planned for us.

Mmm, street hotdogs!

So I never take my camera out when I'm at York cuz I hate snap-shooting alone.
Haha, so this was a great opportunity!

That tree is just great.

Love these chicks!

Here comes the sun! Doo doo doo doo!

She was laughing at the bird poop.
You know you're in highschool when...

One of them talked to us afterwards haha

We couldn't stop laughing when we were on the bus. People think we're crazy.
