Alma 24

I must say I've read Alma 24 many times already. But for once, I actually got emotional when I read it. Their great faith is such an amazing example.

Today's Scripture Study:

Verses 8-10:
"And behold, I thank my great God that he has given us a portion of his Spirit to soften our hearts, that we have opened a correspondence with these brethren, the Nephites. And behold, I also thank my God, that by opening this correspondence we have been convinced of our sins, and of the many murders which we have committed. And I also thank my God, yea, my great God, that he hath granted unto us that we might repent of these things, and also that he hath forgiven us of those our many sins and murders which we have committed, and taken away the guilt from our hearts, through the merits of his Son."
^ By small and simple things, great things shall come to pass. By doing one thing, it leads to another, which leads to an eternal happiness and gratitude. Recognize your blessings!

- The Anti-Nehpi-Lehi's show gratitude for the truest thing because one tiny thing lead to another that brought them their salvation. When you live your life, try to recognize the blessing of even the little things, because those little things all add up to something else in the end.

- Praise God always. Even at times of persecution and the moment of destruction, they looked to God with great faith.

- The Anti-Nephi-Lehi's prepared to die so they wouln't have to fight their brethren. That is a huge sacrifice. And even the way they chose to spend their last days-- they worked hard instead of idling around--because their end was near. Live like the Anti-Nephi Lehis. Strive and endure and enjoy till the end.

- Anti-Nephi-Lehi's showed great amounts of courage and humility. They faced to greet the Lamanites as they attacked and when they did, they were in the midst of praying to God. SUCH HUMILITY AND FAITH!

- Like I said before--> Little things lead to big things. If the Anti-Nephi Lehi's did not make the choice to lay up their lives, then this whole group of Lamanites would not have been touched and converted. They were converted because of their sacrifice. Maybe it was just something that had to be done to bring another group into Christ.
