Facing the storms of life.

Saturday, February 9, 2013

Last night we experienced crazy snow! It snowed all day, the traffic was terrible, almost all events were was just crazy! I had gone to the church to photocopy the Sunday program and getting there was a journey! We had frigid winds piercing our faces; we slipped on icy sidewalks; we trudged through thick blankets of snow in our path; and we climbed over and fell down snow hills and banks. Although it did take a lot of effort, Jared, Laura, and I made the best of it and joked around to make the journey seem a little more effortless.

Then, this morning I woke up to this beautiful blanket of snow on everything!
My first thought was "wow, this came from the storm last night."

And so it is with life. We've got to face the storms of our days. We may have frigid confrontations piercing our hearts; we may slip up and sin; we may trudge through adversary blocking our paths; and we may climb and fall through trials and tribulations. But no matter how terrible it may all seem, it is all part of the journey. We can choose to hate the world for it, or we can try to enjoy it. And no matter how bad things may seem there will always be a clear, beautiful day waiting for us. All we have to do is have faith and trust in the Lord.
